Nervous about joining? Don't be. Almost everyone that has signed up for this type of training has either never been in a gym before or joined a group class. Most are out of shape after pregnancy. If you are conditioned though, I always offer options so everyone can work at their own level.

Maximum class size is 12 in a private, women only gym setting in La Crete.

Beyond Basics classes are probably unlike any classes or workouts you have tried before.  They are fun and casual, and you can join in and benefit no matter what your fitness level is. The women that come out are friendly and welcoming, and you will quickly feel at ease. We are all just normal women trying to get, or stay, fit in a busy world.

Why Choose Group Fitness Classes?

Group Fitness classes are the perfect solution for those that are looking for a fun community to workout with. Classes are set to upbeat music and being social is encouraged! Studies have actually shown that those involved in Group Fitness classes, stick with it longer than those who try to do it on their own! They can also be a great supplement to your Personal Training or workouts as a cross-training alternative.

What Can I Expect from Beyond Basics Group Fitness Classes?

Beyond Basics classes are unique in that they are safe, fun, effective and developed by a certified fitness professional. Classes include HIIT, tabatas, and strength training circuits. Developing functional fitness, and a strong core and glutes is emphasized. Depending on the class and size a variety of interesting equipment will be used.

Beyond Basics classes are actually more like small group training. You will get exercise options if you have an injury or condition, you can participate in fitness assessments and challenges, and get to be a part of a supportive group of women in class and through a What's App group. 

Classes range from 6-12 participants and are open to all fitness levels and abilities.

Do I Need to Be Fit to Participate?

No! Classes are designed to increase your fitness and are for all levels and abilities. Modifications for both beginner and advance participants are always given and will often include substitutions for injuries, health conditions, or concerns related to pregnancy. Listen to your body (and instructor) throughout the class.

If you have any injuries, it's always a great idea to give me a heads up beforehand so that I can advise you appropriately and you can get the most out of your class.

Can I Drop In or Do I Need to Sign Up in Advance?

All of my fitness classes offer you the ability to sign up in advance or to drop in, as long as there is space in the class. I strongly encourage all of my participants to sign up in advance to ensure that you have a spot and so that the class can be set up appropriately for the expected number of participants.

It's My First Time - What Should I Expect?

Plan to arrive at the gym 10-15 minutes before class starts. This will give you a chance to get oriented to the gym, change and fill out all necessary paperwork. I will also show you how to properly set up any equipment needed for the class.

I provide some equipment, a water cooler and basic amenities. What you need to bring is listed under the class schedule sign-up below. 

 

What Happens After the Intro Offer?

After participating for 2 weeks, I hope you love it here as much as we do! I have a few different options based on your frequency and commitment.

sWhat if I Need to Cancel?

 

Classes can be cancelled by email or by texting me directly (926-6415). Due to a potential waitlist, please let me know ASAP if you can't make it.

All classes require 12 hours or more notice to cancel. Cancellations within the 12 hour window will result in a forfeit of the class.

If need to miss your regular class and give enough notice, you can join a different class in your pkg that has available spots.

 

What is the Late Cancellation Fee? Why Do You Have One?

The loss of a class on a class pass, is there for a few reasons;

  1. To keep you accountable. I know how easy it is to bail on yourself but isn't always the choice you should make. Having a small price to pay for a late cancellation makes it easier to stay committed to your goals and we know that's what will give you results!
  2. To prevent people from signing up and no-showing for classes. This hurts the instructor and the potential participants hoping to get into a busy class.

What if I am Going to be Late?

We know that life happens and I firmly live by the rule that some of a workout is better than no workout. Provided the class is not full, you will still be allowed to enter the class. Do so with minimal disruptions to others and take your first 5-10 minutes at a decreased intensity to ensure that you are properly warmed up to avoid injuries.
