PROGRAM INFO:  You can do this simple running or walking program on your own with my support and the BEYOND BASICS PRO TRAINER App. You get group pricing but get individualized program delivery and support!

I created this program because some of you are itching to get outdoors or on the treadmill more now that it's almost summer. Some other reasons I heard that prompted me to create this program were: the Running club times don’t work for people’s schedules, or they prefer to run on their own and start where they are at (not at the beginning). Or they could use some extra training before joining a club or to prepare for a fun run or longer run.

Some of you can’t make it to classes for whatever reason, have to miss a lot this month, want to add cardio in between classes, or would like to go running/walking on their own time and at their own level. 

With the Beyond Basics 4 Week Run or Walk Program you receive:

  1. Three run/walk or walking workouts a week with a warm-up and cool down delivered via the Beyond Basics Pro Trainer App.
  2. Bonus strengthening and conditioning exercises to improve your performance.

While Beyond Basics classes will improve your strength and cardio conditioning dramatically, they are missing the Low Intensity training aspect that is also important to our health. Low intensity exercise is great for diabetics, heart health, can aid in weight loss and better sleep, and also improved mental health including better coping skills, stress reduction, decreased levels of depression and relieving some symptoms of ADHD.

This program is for only for walking and up to 10K. So for beginner to intermediate walkers and runners.

What Can I Expect from Beyond Basics Group Fitness Classes?

Beyond Basics classes are unique in that they are safe, fun, effective and developed by a certified fitness professional. Classes include HIIT, tabatas, and strength training circuits. Developing functional fitness, and a strong core and glutes is emphasized. Depending on the class and size a variety of interesting equipment will be used.

Classes range from 6-12 participants and are open to all fitness levels and abilities.

 

Do I Need to Be Fit to Participate?

No! Classes are designed to increase your fitness and are for all levels and abilities. Modifications for both beginner and advance participants are always given and will often include substitutions for injuries, health conditions, or concerns related to pregnancy. Listen to your body (and instructor) throughout the class.

If you have any injuries, it's always a great idea to give me a heads up beforehand so that I can advise you appropriately and you can get the most out of your class. 

 

Can I Drop In or Do I Need to Sign Up in Advance?

All of my fitness classes offer you the ability to sign up in advance or to drop in, as long as there is space in the class. I strongly encourage all of my participants to sign up in advance to ensure that you have a spot and so that the class can be set up appropriately for the expected number of participants.

It's My First Time - What Should I Expect?

Plan to arrive at the gym 10-15 minutes before class starts. This will give you a chance to get oriented to the gym, change and fill out all necessary paperwork. I will also show you how to properly set up any equipment needed for the class.

I provide some equipment, a water cooler and basic amenities. What you need to bring is listed under the class schedule.

 

What if I Need to Cancel?

Classes can be cancelled by email or by texting me directly (926-6415). Due to a potential waitlist, please let me know ASAP if you can't make it.

All classes require 12 hours or more notice to cancel. Cancellations within the 12 hour window will result in a forfeit of the class.

If need to miss your regular class and give enough notice, you can join a different class in your pkg that has available spots.

 

What is the Late Cancellation Fee? Why Do You Have One?

The loss of a class on a class pass, is there for a few reasons;

  1. To keep you accountable. I know how easy it is to bail on yourself but isn't always the choice you should make. Having a small price to pay for a late cancellation makes it easier to stay committed to your goals and we know that's what will give you results!
  2. To prevent people from signing up and no-showing for classes. This hurts the instructor and the potential participants hoping to get into a busy class.
  3. I will be trying different class styles, days and times until we figure out what works best for the most people. I need a minimum of 4 participants to run a class and I don't want to cancel a class once people have already left home or work, or have already arrived at class. Ouch!

 

What if I am Going to be Late?

We know that life happens and I firmly live by the rule that some of a workout is better than no workout. Provided the class is not full, you will still be allowed to enter the class. Do so with minimal disruptions to others and take your first 5-10 minutes at a decreased intensity to ensure that you are properly warmed up to avoid injuries.
